Battle rifle bandolier, how do YOU carry mags?

A while back I bought an FAL and around 15 twenty-round magazines as my SHTF setup. It wasn't until recently that I realized that should something actually happen, I don't really have anything to carry all those magazines in an accessible way.

My question is, especially for anyone with a battle rifle SHTF setup, what do you have to carry your loaded mags? Is there some nation through history who issued bandoliers that would hold maybe 5 or 6 twenty round magazines, kind of like the twenty-round M16 bandoliers of Vietnam? I'd really prefer something like a bandolier that can be slung on or off easily rather than some sort of belt/vest/etc, but I'm not sure what was ever issued for M14s, FALs, G-3s, etc

I use a chest rig for HK91, but here is a link to

Get an oversized MOLLE belt, attach mag pouches, throw over your shoulder... viola, 7.62 battle rifle bandoleer, or belt either one.

seriously though, look into your molle options, cheaper than you think and can be configured just how you want it to be.

Most 7.62NATO battle rifle load outs were 4 +1 magazines. That has a lot to do with weight and some to do with space because double stacking magazines or magazine pouches just wasn't done during the heyday of the thirty cal battle rifle. You can buy surplus belts and mag pouches for FALs to carry loaded magazines.

You can also purchase LBE harnesses or vests with 4-6 pocket from the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

You can buy modern LBE with MOLLE attachments for as many single or double pouches as you like (capable of adding enough weight to make it difficult to get up from the ground).
