Given the circumstances, suicide was my first thought too. Just a few yards from a busy highway, right next to the vehicle, etc.

I saw a story on the ABC news morning show about Tannerite and how dangerous it was and why it needs to be better controlled or outlawed. The next holy mission for the do-gooders.

On that note, I believe we should ban gasoline, and fertilizer as well. Banning dangerous things seems to have worked before. Think of the children!
