I just received my order of supposedly 205 grain, .45 caliber RNFP bullets from Bear Creek. The nominal weight is a tad odd - everyone else has 200 grain bullets - but I figured the extra 5 grains was the result of not having a lube band, these being coated bullets.

When I weigh them, I find them be be significantly heavier; 209.5 to 210 grains.

Has anyone else run into this situatation with Bear Creek? And yes, I emailed the supplier, Pathfinder Sports, about this, but got no reply.

I shoot Bear Creek Bullets almost exclusivley. Not because they are super great but because they are super cheap.

Weights vary, voids, wrinkles...yada yada yada... It a Bear creek thing. :)

Now I am not Bullseye shooter and so far the accuracy issues that these bullets create have not hurt me. They are fine for blaster food.

So long as the overage is consistent;

i.e., I know that they're all 210, I can cope. I just have to work up new loads, since I'm used to shooting 200 grain LSWC or plated RN. Then too, I don't know exactly how the coating will affect pressure.

I plan on doing a double batch of test loads; one for the 625 PC and one for the SVI Government model. With luck, each will prefer the same load, or close to it. With my luck, they'll be a half-grain or more apart! :rolleyes:
