I just came back from a DIY spring black bear hunt. I only saw 5 bears, of which 3 were cubs, one was a sow with the cubs on park land, and the other a shooter male. I took the male, but after doing some more reading am starting to think I was lucky to do that. Anyone know of any good books on bear hunting that deal with habitat,altitude, temperature, and general habits dealing with movement and hibernation? I'm also headed to Idaho to the frank church for elk( I know there are better places, just want to go see.) and I have a bear tag for that as well. Any good books on elk with same info would be appreciated.
