Bed liner spray for pistol?

from my experience with truck bed liner, it leaves fairly sharp little peices of plastic sticking out everywhere. it would not be very comfortable in the grip area, and coating the pistol would make it weigh a ton. and just thinking about what it would do if it got into a moving part makes me cringe. there is a place for that stuff, IN THE BACK OF PICK UPS! if you want to put something in the grip area how about some of that plasti-dip stuff they make for tools. tape the heck out of everything you dont want it covered in it. you can apply it with a brush. it leaves a smooth rubbery coating. if you wanted a little "gription" you could mix in a little FINE sand prior to applying it.

Powdercoating

I've got a few old pistols that I'm toying with the idea of powdercoating. One of my buddies has the entire rig to do it, so I'm at the "give it a chance" stage.

Unlike the bedliner spray, which is extremely heavy, the powdercoat is "puffed" on and then baked to melt it onto the surfaces. He swears by it, and says that it gives a better finish than hot bluing because if you want "shiny guns", you can compound them just like you do your car.

Anybody else tried this? I see the kits are available online.
