I am getting ready to undertake a little project.

I ordered a Hogue stock for my 10/22. I want to bed it and float it to see what accuracy I can gain from an otherwise factory rifle.

Questions:

1. Will a standard stock cutting tool cut the synthetic material when I float it?
2. I know there are bedding materials out there for synethics. Any recommendations?
3. General comments or tips?

I am considering this a practice run and if everything works out, I may consider duplicating the procedures on my big rifles too.

Thanks.

MRB, I recently bedded a synthetic stock on a Remington Model 7. Accra-Gel worked great. Prep work involved using 60 to 100 grit sandpaper to rough up the bedding area. I also drilled a series of holes so the gel would get into them and lock the bedding in place.

Hope this helped some.
