I got my baby fixed and was able to shoot it for the first time in at least 20 years. I used to compete with the guy back in the 70's and early 80's till college, marriage and career got in the way. My daughter shot some precision air rifles at a camp so I got mine out and decided to get it fixed up.
It took a while to find them but Urmarex did a complete rebuild and new seals, springs and everything. It feels great and seems to run really well. I took only a few shots with it (its like 112 heat index out there) to see it work and then oiled it up and parked in the safe. When the heat cools down I will have to get it out and good shooting again. It costs just shy of 200$ and I spent about 75$ on shipping and packing. This rifle means a lot to me so I wanted it taken care of.
Doing some research I found out that the 400's (or Dianawerk 75's) were quite rare in the states. Not many folks went for expensive target rifles back then. This one cost right at $400 back in 1975 which was a heck of a lot of money back then.
Just to give you an idea of the trigger it is fully adjustable meaning you can adjust weight, 1st stage travel, cant, rotation angle front to back index point. I currently have it set at 2 ounces which takes some getting used to after shooting rifles for a while.
Anyone else shoot 400's or the competitor the FWB 300's?
