I was given a Belgian made ELG that looks to be a .410.
Any one have any information? And what would something like
this be worth?
Thanks
Jeremy

ELG was the mark for the Belgian Proof house.

What you have is not valuable in the monetary sense, but it may be priceless if owned by an ancestor.

HTH....

Belgium shotguns were imported by the 10's of thousands between WWI and WWII. Belgium had a large cottage industry at the time and they would combine to fill contract orders. For example H&D Folsom might want 2000 shotguns, 500 would be filled by one shop, 350 by another shop and so on and so on until the middle man could deliver 2000 bolt action .410 shotguns. Many times because of the combined work there are no makers marks placed on the firearms. Belgium also had some very expert gun makers but almost all their firearms are marked, even the trade names guns. Your firearm was made between 1920's and 1940, as stated the monetary value is not high, but you do have a piece of firearm history.
