Due to inflammation of several processes on the outside of my right hip, I can't wear any holster there. Yes, I can do an appendix carry without irritating the area but I'm mentally uncomfortable for all the common reasons with that carry.

I tried a belly band and while it worked for carry, it was so hot that I decided not to use it for carrying. It felt to me like I imagined those sauna belts I've seen in the gym would feel. Ideally, if there's one of these with a breathing belt and a Kydex holster, I'd like to try it.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have an AlphaHolster belly band holster. It has a very open and breathable elastic mesh. It has holster shaped pockets with Velcro retaining strips to hold a small pistol, I don't know how you would use a kydex holster with it. I can carry my Diamondback DB9 in it and not know it is there. Like all belly band holsters its downfall is the pistol isn't easy to get to from under my shirt which is why I rarely use it. I went with beige so there isn't a big black stripe visible through a light colored shirt.

I have a Bravo Belt belly band holster. I bought one on a friend's recommendation. He wears his all the time in hot weather under a lightweight untucked button down short sleeve shirt. I really cant speak to the heat of the band.

I find it very comfortable to wear. My complaint on the Bravo Belt is the left handed version places the velcro end of the belt / flap behind your back. I'd rather have in the front. It was a reinforced pocket for your pistol that protects the trigger plus a strap.

I would rather have kydex holster. The Crossbreed Modular Belly Band looks to be a better setup.

I would need to call them to see where the velcro end flap lines up for a left hander.

Thanks. The Alien Gear band has the Kydex holster built in. It claims to be breathable but I can't tell how it'll feel without buying it which is the reason I asked. I'll have a look at the Alpha for sure. I forget the one I tried when this leg issue started but it was so hot that it was nearly unusable for me.

What gun are you going to be carrying?

Curious about this as well. I haven't found any belly holsters that were really comfortable without wearing over a wife beater undershirt.

Take a look at the PHLster Enigma, which puts your Kydex in the same position as a belly band, but with a much more comfortable 2" belt and quick release buckle. I carry my M&P 2.0C in a JM Custom Kydex on an Enigma, but if yours is an M&P C 4" you can order all you need from PHLSter by getting their Skeleton on the Enigma Express (their pre-assmbled option). If your M&P is a different size, look at JM Custom Kydex or Henry Holsters for the correct Kydex to match up. (I recently learned that Henry Holsters makes the Kydex holsters for PHLster.
If you plan to buy your Enigma and holster seprarately, be sure to look at their videos on how to assemble and adjust it all, preferably before you order.

+1 on the undershirt, preferably 100% cotton. If that doesn’t work try a carry vest. I got a vest that looks great (no printing) is comfortable and will conceal an XD-45 easily!

I've had a few types and while they were comfortable, after a while the Velcro isn't as reliable as it once was. I never thought them to be unreasonably hot in summer, except for the one that seemed like it was made of neoprene. Maybe it was the cold weather version and I didn't realize...
Now, if you're already accustomed to an undershirt, they make tank tops with built in carry pocket. Mostly seen them marketed toward women, but I think they make them for guys too.

I wear a Cross Breed belly band with a Ruger LCR when I ride my mountain bike for exercise at 0400 hrs. (Not this time of year, too cold) It holds very securely and is very comfortable.
