For just a mere $2,995 greenbacks you to can have your own belt-fed AR15 semi-automatic legal to own upper. Pretty cool. Called the Shrike it is going to be adopted by the U.S. military (in automatic) as a very light weight (less than 8lbs) machine gun. A little brother to the SAWs. Interesting:

Seems awful pricey for something so worthless. For that price, a civilian can get six pre-ban Beta C-Mag's or twelve post-ban ones. Better yet, stick with the 30-rounders. Mate these with a bull barrel upper and you're ready to rock. Belt-fed guns are awkward for the most part. They are overly complicated and heavy for a semi-auto.

Or for even less, I'll come over and torch you barrel and get it over with even more quickly.

I mean, how often do you need to shoot more than 300 rounds? I know lots of folks that have 10 30 round USGI mags that work just fine. If you're crankin 'em off so fast that you can't take 2 seconds to switch the mag out, the barrel isn't gonna last more than 2 mintues anyway.

Huh? How can I do that legally?

I correct myself. I meant to say that post-ban ones are being sold for about $250 but I didn't clarify that this is only to LE, Military, or FFL's with a department letter. I suspect that if the AW ban sunsets, the going rate will be much lower than $500. Unlike the Belt-Fed upper, Beta magazines have had over 10 years of experience and field use to work out the kinks.
