Good evening (or afternoon, morning wherever you're at),

This is my first post here. I've read threads on this forum on occasion, and to be honest it's a lot better than a CCW website I used to frequent, that has recently taken a spin totally downhill.... (sad really, that site was what got me into CCW)

Anyhow, I've been looking for some belts. I'm ramping up a purchase of two holsters (Aker holster...nice ones..one black one brown....hey I like to match what I'm wearing). I made the mistake of buying a belt sometime back, that honestly, when I bought it, was stiff and held my setup farily decent, but after a few months of wear, maybe even a few weeks, it started to lose it's stiffness and become real flimsy. (I guess that's what I get for a 20 dollar belt)
I don't mind spending good money on the belt. I've estimated about 250 dollars total for 2 belts, and the two holsters I want. The holsters are 50 dollars each. so I have 75 dollars left over for each belt. Is that unrealistacally low?

Can you guys point me in the right direction? NO crazy-weird*fancy* stitching. I'm a pretty plain kind of guy.....

Hope to read more of the info here, and maybe even contribute now and again.

good belts for CC; Mitch Rosen, Galco, Blackhawk

Hello;

For leather gun belts that work well for CC, I'd check the websites for Mitch Rosen, Kramer Gun Leather, Galco and/or Blackhawk.

These companies are highly respected and used by professionals(sworn LEOs, spec ops, EP/bodyguards, etc).

You can get belts made of different materials and hides in different widths/styles/colors.

These belts are not cheap but will last long and provide good support for your firearms/mags/white lights/knives/etc.

I actually use a 1/16" thick x 1.5" wide x 12" long strip of brass, bent to fit the shape of my hip with the holster on it. Belt goes on over top of that. It's a bit of a pain to put on, but it works good. Now I can use my holster even when wearing no belt or a really floppy one.

That's a decent idea.

I did come across a belt sold by Galco called the SB3. I'm guessing that I'll get good quality from them and the looks and price are defintely in my arena....

I'll let you guys know how that works out with the Aker holsters.
Thanks for the info.

First welcome to the forum!

I belive that if you utilize the search function, you will find a number of members that make fine leather wear, and will probably be able to work with you to determine your particular needs.

I wish that I had a list on hand to give you, but I don't at the moment. Maybe someone other than me will chime in.

Once again , welcome

Don't forget to check out Bianchi and Safariland - I have a 20 year old Bianchi belt that is still in excellent shape (wish I could say the same for my waistline:uhoh: ).

I'm looking also. I have been considering ElPaso and Bianchi. Does any one have coments on these? Right now Bianchi customer service and I are going round and round. Last month I shipped them back a mod. 7 fpr a P90 that wouldn't even come close to snapping on my bone stock gun. I sent it back on My dime, got a call that they soaked it, put a plug in and it was fine. By the time it got back to me in Northern New England it was as bad as when I sent it too them. I ordered an identical one from My supplier, got it this morning and it's as it should be. As per their requst I'm returning it to them for possible credit. Your feedback on their belts would be appreciated..Essex

I have several Wilderness tactical belts ($40+- & different colors) and an Uncle Mikes Instructor belt (Midway #828711 $23 & black only) you might give one a try.

The Beltman and Rafters gun leather are two small operations offering a quality
product at areasonable price. If you are planning on using the belt for dress, go with the 1 1/4 " belt. Make sure that the holster you pick is sized for the belt.

Beltman also offers a line of holsters that you might consider.

Good luck!!

Aker has their B21 belt. It's supposed to be very good and a price of only about $40. Galls sells them. Also check out "GunnersAlley.com" as well as the above mentioned sites. I use a Ken Null (superb quality) belt with jeans/casual, an Alessi (top quality and not mentioned before) with suits and a Strong with dockers/duckheads. My next one will probably be a "Beltman" horsehide belt as an upgrade from the Strong (very serviceable and not expensive) belt. You got the right idea - go with quality. Welcome:cool:

I have had a Kirkpatrick belt for almost three years and it has been super. The price was very resonable too. Lou Alessi makes one of the nicest belts I've ever seen and I plan on picking up one of his soon.
