I went handgun shopping yesterday, but came home with this M1 instead...

Is there a good on-line source of Benelli accessories? I'd like to have a mount for my Insight M3 if such is sold separately.

BTW, the local dealer had a 4 round extension for the M1 but mine has the PG stock and I don't think it can legally wear the +4, correct?

Thanks in advance

No +4 with the pistol-grip stock. You would have to get a non-PG to add the +4. I thought about it but I like the PG too much.

Parts, you can find at Brownells.

Accessories such as a sidesaddle, Surefire, etc. can be found lots of places and other parts like the slings and buttcuffs are one-size-fits many.

If your shotgun doesn't say 'Heckler & Koch' on it chances are it's a post ban. If it's new, it's definitely a postban and the 4+ is a no-go.

Not sure where to get the M3...

Proceed with caution

When considering how many accessories you put on that Benelli. The weapon can be made unreliable by adding weight to it like a side saddle, which can cause a different problem if you over tighten it onto the aluminum receiver, or a dedicated foreend light mount. I've seen it happen and Benelli armorer's class recommends against adding more than 300 grams total weight to the weapon.

Sling and butt cuff ammo carrier are fine. To mount an M3 light you'd have to find a way to affix a rail for it and with the recoil impulse of a 12 gauge, especially in rapid fire mode, I'm not sure how stable and durable the light would be once mounted.

Thanks guys,

I bought this one new in the box for $650 out the door.

I wasn't too much interested in the +4 extension anyway, but the dealer was trying to sell it, without realizing it wouldn't be legal on this gun.

Likewise, I'm not a big fan of side saddles, but the light mount might be nice. I already have an Insight M3, and Benelli says it is their light of choice on the M1 and have a pic of one mounted on the tube of an M1... it would only add a few ounces as the M3 is made from synthetics.

I found the light mount at Natchez for about $15, so I'll have to order one... just because. :D

Thanks again.

This may sound kind of funny to get for a Benelli.... but is it possible to get a rifled slug barrel for the M1S90? Mine is a pre-ban with the PG and mag extension. I think I paid $650 for mine too.

$650 is a screaming deal, I thought I was lucky when I got mine in ~1998 for $689 (18.5" barrel, 3 choke tubes, ghost rings, 4 round extension).

Long Island Shooting Center used to be a great place to find Benelli accessories, if not the most economical. Check them out at lisc.net. LISC is the first place I'd check for spare barrels; then I'd try CDNN next (cdnninvestments.com).
