I have a friend who wants to get rid of a new Benelli M1 Super 90 (maybe has 100 rounds on it) he asked 500.00. I don't know too much about the gun but I know 500.00 should be a good deal.

He said it will not reliably cycle low recoil rounds. Is this common for this gun? I think it is recoil operated.

$500 is a very good price, so low it makes one wonder what's wrong with it. Light loads will cause cycling malfunctions on occassion. Inertia recoil operated. Inertia recoil operated.

Buy it and don't look back. At 100 rounds it is not even broke in yet.
They can be made to run light loads but I would guess it just needs to shot some with standard loads.

Good Luck.

That's way cheap. Mine cycles just about everything I've put through it, from the "tactical" low recoil 00 buck loads to full house 00 buck to the low brass value pack target loads from Wally World. Then again, I don't have a bunch of stuff hanging off of my gun either.

yeah, I lowballed him with the 500.00. He knows it too low but he is one of those guys that has money coming out of his ears. He called me a thief and then said "what the hell". One other question: The gun is marked Heckler & Koch. Did HK own Benelli at one time

That's like mine . Originally HK marketed the Benelli. I don't know if they've changed the spring but I too had problems with light loads .I have modified mine so it's much better. There was a light spring available from Brownells and perhaps Benelli if you are going to use it for target shooting only but IIRC it's expensive. A fine gun , I've been very happy with mine .$ 500 ? YES. BTW if you get it - there have been changes as I understand -The early ones have two washers one flat and one a 'wave washer' these must always be assembled in the proper order.

Mine is an HK version as well. The early ones came in several configurations, (tactical, Practical, Defense, Slug, Entry gun, Field, Camo, and Sporting models) Early ones also had round knurled bolt handle, later versions used a cupped chrome bolt handle.

$500 is about 1/2 what it should bring....Practicals versions are worth more.

If you can get it for that I would jump on it in a heart beat. If you don't want it I'm sure there is plenty of folks who would. Me included and I already have one. Is that OC in MD or Jersey?

Forgot to add. My HK benelli cycles light loads well. Yours will probably just needs to be broken in. If not you can get a lighter spring to correct the problem.

Take it and run. The M1 Super 90 is the best shotgun I have ever owned.

It'll take a few thousand shells, but it will eventually shoot any low brass loads you want to throw through it.

Thanks for all the input. Deal is done. We just need to do the transfer.

There's more than two OC's :what: . Too bad. Always looking for someone else to shoot with.

One more suggestion on the Benelli. The suggestions on the HK forum is to run a few boxes of full power 3 inch shells through her. That is supposed to help "break in" the springs. Seemed it was a common problem of the HK Benelli's and that was an easy fix.

Dang good price. I bought my M1S90 from a friend that was strapped for cash, for a little more, and it too was brand new (I even got the box). It will cycle everything I have put through it from light field loads to heavy buck. I love it.:)

I have shot it in 3 gun matches with #8 field loads with the mod choke tube, and it has done very well. Very accurate shotgun!:D
