I just bought a benelli nova took it out yesterday and ran about 200 shells thru it and today I went dove hunting and when I fired it and racked the shotgun the loaded shell would go into the bore at a slight cant and jam into the shotgun. It would take quite a bit of pressure to eject the jammed shell. I thought maybe im short stroking it or somthing anyone got any idears.

Sorry they were 2 3/4 fiocchi and winchester and remington i dont think it was the shell cause it did it 5 or 6 times and with all diffrent shells and at diffrent order somtimes it would be the second shell and somtimes the third.

Check under the extractor for any crud and inspect extractor claw for possible chips or other damage. Wiggle the extractor back and forth. You can use pressurized spray like Rem oil to flush out dirt, etc.

Glad,

If the gun works fine during routine (non-pressure) situations, but doesn't work well during hurried pressure-type (hunting) situations, then, YEP, you're short-stroking it. It's operator error. :)

Im gonna taker er apart and check them extractors I never had a problem with shortstroking my mossi but i was told that 3 1/2 guns have a bit of longer stroke on em so maybe i need to shoot more.
