Hammer Nose lightly rubs against frame sometimes when working action.
Have not fired yet, just purchased. Is this an easy repair or should I
leave it alone? I assume it's hardened and not able to be bent straight.
It seems loose up and down but not so side to side. Has any body had this problem? Also how do I post an Image of my new object to worry over?
Thanks!

How old is "old?" :D

If this revolver is a hand ejector the hammer nose is supposed to move slightly up and down. It was designed to do this.

Rubbing against the side of the frame is another matter. I suspect that the hammer itself isn't centered in the slot. When it was made may have something to do with it, but it isn't expensive or difficult to correct.

Unless the hammer nose is bent, I would leave it alone.

I'm sure it's circa 1950 with a "C" prefix on the serial #. How much for a gun smith to replace this part do you think? Also whats the worst thing that can happen if it doesn't strike exactly in the right spot or if it is slowed down by grazing the frame? I'm leaning
towards Jims Idea of leaving it alone at leat for my 1st test firing.
