Beretta 70S .22LR opinions?

Beretta 70S .22LR (Jaguar Plinker model)

What's your thoughts on the Beretta 70S in a .22LR? I think they were also called the Jaguar Plinker. I found a minty fresh one in a local gun shop. It's the perfect size .22 I've been looking for. What would be a good price for one mint in the box with manual?

These are the absolute best hiking pistol in .22LR ever made IMHO. They only weigh 18 oz, are very accurate and very reliable which is rare in most .22s. There is one with both the 3.5" and 6" barrel pictured in my 'safe queen oiling' thread. The Israelian Mossad used these with Winchester solid copper plated Super X ammo to head shoot lots of nasty pendechos!

As I have posted on numerous occasions, this to me, is the ultimate kit gun. Reliable, durable, accurate, lightweight, and constant companion on many hikes and field excursions; the Model 70S has been one of my favorites for many years. I had it hard chrome plated after experiencing trouble with the factory bluing, and then again after Beretta had reblued it. All in all, one neat little .22 by Beretta.

I agree with everything said above. The Beretta 70 series .22LR semi autos (70S, 71, 72, 74, 75, 76 . . . I may have missed one or two) are among the best rimfire plinkers of all time. Accurate, reliable, and lightweight (even the later steel-framed guns). Quality is excellent as well. Prices are getting ridiculous on the auction sites so you may do well by buying locally--though you'll have to get there before me
