I found a Beretta 87 on a gun shops shelf yesterday and I really liked it right away. Are there any owners out there? I would really appreciate your input.

Nice pistol, I have the extended barrel version. Its a little expensive compared to others such as the ruger, etc., but I got it because it looked nice. Its also reliable, the sights a little small. It is a nice pistol to start beginners on. The trigger has a slightly long take up, but otherwise is a single action trigger. I think there was a recent thread on the Beretta 87 (non-target version).

Are you asking about the Cheetah or the Target?

I have the Cheetah, and it has ended my quest for a reliable 22lr handgun (fourth try). It fits the hand nicely and is accurate as I need it to be. Most important is that I do not need to remember which way to flip it to put it back together. The only fault I can find with it is that the mags are uncomfortable to loade relative to Ruger mags. Someone needs to make a version of the Ultimate clip loader for this gun.

Thank all of you for replying. At this point I think I'm pretty well sold provided I can find a reasonable means of affording it.
