I want to add that I get pure enjoyment out of dragging my 92FS to the range. I'm not completely sure why, as it is bigger and clunkier than some of my other 9's, but it may be the challenge of the "older school" design, or the way it seems to guide me to the target....I seem to hit faster and more frequently than with the other guns. If I had the same result from an oversized Beretta in .45, I'm sure I'd like it for the same reasons.

The cougar / 8045 is an excellent pistol. If you want a .45acp and you like Beretta, the trigger and safety are essentially the same.

Nope.

The 92FS/M9 is a great gun in 9mm, but I have zero interest in a .45ACP version.

I would not be interested. I like the 92 in 9m.m. and use it as a house gun. I also, used to carry the 96D in .40 S&W. It was very accurate and absolutely reliable.
They were just too big and bulky. The idea of making one even bigger is just beyond me.

Yes,I would love if Beretta made a 45acp in a 92/96 style gun! Oh, the Cougar is a different design than the 92/96 series. Beretta no longer puts it's name on that model,It's a subcompany that starts with an" S". You can get a PX- STORM in 45.
