This will be another strictly range gun. Looking for opinions from people who own both of the guns. If you have a different suggestion in 9mm please comment.

Geez, ask me to pick a favorite kid why don't you...

You can't really go wrong with either. It comes down to what fits you better, what you shoot better, and what's on sale that day. I'm happy I own both and wouldn't willingly give up either.

Both are good guns, but make sure the one you pick fits your hands.

I don't have big hands, wearing a size 8 glove, and while I really want to like the CZ75B (it will feel good in your hands), I just can't comfortably reach the trigger in double action mode without rotating my hand, and if used in single action mode, I can't reach the thumb safety (which is shaped like half a jelly bean) without rotating my hand. I'm a 1911 guy, so working a frame mounted safety, and cocked and locked carry is second nature to me, but the CZ75B just doesn't fit me. The single action models, or decocker models may be different, but the regular CZ75B is not usable for me.

Lots of folks complain about the thick Beretta grip. The grip is thick, but I can reach all the controls fairly easily on the Beretta, and on safety/decocker guns, like the Beretta, I only use the lever as a decocker and then switch it back to off safe.

In addition, Wilson Combat has recently started carrying "goodies" and performing custom work on the Beretta 92 series of guns.

My choice would be the Beretta.

If it's just a range toy then a EAA Witness Elite Match, for around $500-550 there is nothing close in accuracy right out of the box. You might accidently get a CZ or Beretta 92 that shoots good, but likely not as good as the Witness Elite.

I had a 92 many years ago but it's gone, I have one CZ75 left but it's a engraved anniversary model and just gets worn to fancy barbeques.

I also just bought another Elite Match to go with my first one, because they are the ones I like to shoot at the range when I want little bitty groups. They are about 98% of the accuracy of my Sig X6, and that's saying something since the Sig cost 6x the price.

Between the CZ and 92 I suggest that most people will find CZ fits their hand better and should pick the CZ. I voted other on the poll. I believe there are several better choices than the CZ and 92.

CZ for sure.

Better trigger and more comfortable IMO. Plus they're not known for locking block failures like the Beretta.

I voted cz, the only one i shot was very accurate and smooth trigger. And i owned 3 beretta's, and i cant stand them. I bought a m9 brand new last fall when cabelas had them for 475. And i still havent shot it. No desire to shoot it.

Within that price range both are good choices.

As always however it is best for you to try both out and then decide on what works for you.

My preference is SIG P226 for hammer fired DA/SA.

I have both. The Beretta has become my 9mm range gun. I have a hard time hitting the target at 15 yds with the CZ, I will admit it is my fault and not the guns I have had others do just fine with it. I will say the CZ has never had a problem in about 5000 rounds but neither has the Beretta.

For a full size DA/SA pistol

You almost HAVE to consider a SIG226 or SIG229 as well

(In fact it's illegal in some states to NOT consider a SIG):D

I have a 75B, and a 75D PCR, plus a Beretta 92FS. They are all excellent, but I lean towards the CZ.

If it's limited to the DA/SA platform, I'd look at a SIG P229 or the CZ 75B. I wouldn't choose the Beretta 92 even if it was the only choice. Nothing wrong with the gun in terms of function; it just doesn't fit me. I would rather buy a new compound bow with that money.

Have to go with the CZ75 as it's a much better fit for my smaller hands than the Beretta Model 92.

I have a 92 and it's awesome. I also have a PX4 Storm Compact which shoots even better for me. Probably the grip. I would venture to say a full sized PX4 in 9mm would be a great range gun. I'm not sure if your stuck on the all metal thing though...

This. I have small hands and wanted to like the cz, I have a cz75 and a 75b but on range trips I take the Taurus pt99 because I can reach the controls and trigger without rotating my hand.
I like the accuracy of the cz75's, but when I have a proper grip I cannot physically reach the trigger to pull it in DA without significantly changing my grip....same with the safety and mag release. It just has a really long reach to the trigger.

I just did some measuring, and at 3.07" the cz has a much longer distance between the grip and uncocked trigger than the beretta/Taurus at 2.8"....and is longer even than an HK USP45 at 2.995".
That at lest partially explains why I can more comfortably shoot the hk than the cz....even with my small hands.

I have a CZ, but I would love to have a Beretta, too.

The real answer? Get both.

The Beretta has more available, cheaper mags, and more sources for parts. The CZ is very ergonomic for many people. So does the Beretta. these days, they seem to cost about the same. There isn't really a bad choice to be made here.
