Dear THR,
I would like to hear views and experiences of the Inox owners. What do you think of this pistol in terms of performance, accuracy, style, durability, finish, value in collection and value for money?
Thanks

Ps pictures of your personal Inox are appreciated.

Mine has been great in pretty much every aspect. It has been more accurate than my 9mm SW1911, only failure I have had is the first magazine fired didn't lock back after the last round - in 600 rounds so far.

Something I ran into but no-one else in the world has seemed to - I dry-fired the crap out of it (in double-action), and after a couple of months and maybe 3000 dry fires (in DA) the hammer rounded the trigger bar where they meet enough that DA no longer worked, the trigger just slipped under the hammer. It has been repaired, but there is more take-up now and there is NO more travel left in SA, it lets off when the trigger almost touches the frame. I am waiting on Brownells to get in a replacement for me (they "should" get it from their supplier in July...). The hammer has no wear. I think the edge on the hammer where the trigger bar pulls on it was rather sharp and was causing the gouging on the trigger bar.

My INOX 92fs of choice is the Vertec model. It has proven to be reliable, as accurate as any but my target pistols. I've had no problems with wear or durability. As to value in a collection, I'd place the Beretta in the must have for any serious collection. I bought my Vertec used so the actual value was very good IMHO.

This is a beautiful, functionally easy to use, accurate and well made quality pistol. If you find one for a good price, I'd say add this one to your collection... it's a fine gun.

My only wish now is to find some wood grips.

I have a Beretta 92FS Inox that has been fantastic! I have not had even one malfunction EVER with it in lots of shooting I have done in several years.
I have several Beretta 92FS models. ALL have been good solid accurate dependable weapons. Make sure you maintain them as recomended and use FACTORY or GOOD QUALITY magazines and you should have no problems.
I carried the M-9 as a sidearm for ten years in the US Army including in some very harsh and dangerous environments around the world. I personally would not hesitate to carry or use the Beretta 92FS or M-9 again if going into harm's way.
My old unit spend more range time with sidearms then most & the M-9 did fine if you do your part to maintain it.
The Beretta 92FS Inox is basically the same pistol but with a different finish. I have had very good luck with mine. It is my favorite of my personal Beretta 92FS pistols.
A good friend / former team mate of mine is doing overseas contracting work now (counter terrorism / Protective Detail. He helped design the firearms training program at the International Police Academy in Jordan. His preferred sidearm is a Beretta 92FS Inox that he had smoothed up at FLETC in GA some years back while assisting with thier semi auto transition training course.
The Beretta 92 FS Inox is a very good pistol in my experience. You should have no issues.

It's a fine gun. Very smooth. Nicely crafted piece of hardware IMO. Just feels right. A good addition to any collection for a metal, SA/DA, manual safety, hammer-fired blaster.

If your first post was for my benefit, I appreciate the effort made to assist a fellow forum member. Unfortunately the normal 92 or 96 grips don't fit on the oddball Vertec model. But thanks anyway.

Thank you for insights.
I am glad to see that I am moving towards right direction.

Hmmmm. Okay, let me start off by saying that I pretty much despise Taurus handguns in general. Having said that, I think the Taurus PT-92 in stainless steel is one of the coolest and underestimated guns on the market. I've loved polished stainless steel 92s from the moment Lt. Gen. Martinson shot himself with one in A Few Good Men.

Moving on, I acquired a Taurus 92 stainless PT-92 in a trade some time ago and I've since fallen for it, too. Not only that, for the same amount of money I would have paid for a used Beretta 92 (INox), I could have (and did) get a mint Taurus and a brand NEW Beretta 92 air pistol!

I used to have a Beretta 92 (Italian), and the Taurus was nigh as good the Beretta (plus the Taurus has a rail).

Mine has never jammed...er...malfunctioned is the word they prefer. And Taurus has worked on the accuracy over the years so it's now in the same ball park as the Beretta. In short, I love mine. You ought to consider one for your collection. And get an air pistol as well. It'll round out your life!

I can't speak to the Inox version and I am by NO means an expert, but...

I have carried the M-9 several times overseas for my uncle and was one of those that always bashed it because it wasn't a '_______'. Fill in the blank.

After performing horribly on the qualification range at work one day, I manned up and realized that I would need to make friends with this firearm.

I purchased my own 92FS and started over from square one. I relearned how to shoot it on my own. Depending on your MOS and unit, you don't go shooting very often so marksmanship proficiency is "on you".

After putting a couple thousand rounds through my 92FS, I have to say that it has become one of my all time favorites firearms.

I feel pretty good about my performance with it now and had to eat crow to one of my buddies in the unit after pervisously bashing the design. Now, it is one of the two guns that always goes with me for practice. My home defense first choice is my 92FS with the Corbon Powerball, next is a G27 right behind it. I trust the protection of my most important gifts (family) to those.

When I was overseas I did not have any problems with its operation, although some have complained about it. My issued side arms operated just as they should, even in the fine talcum powder sand. I brushed it off a lot and tried to minimize the CLP.

I am glad I got mine.

Forget about Inox and go for the black!!! :D

Words cannot describe my envy. Anyways, between the m9 and 92fs, I want an m9 simply for the rollmark, but I have only shot the 92f. I know that the sights are different on the m9 - do you have any problem shooting with it? I've looked down the sights on it before and it seems funky to me, but again I haven't shot it. Don't know if I would get to before purchasing, as I would likely have to make a special order.

I do not like the dot/post of the M9. Also, be aware that the M9 doesn't have the rear strap indentation that the 92FS has. I can tell the difference whe holding both, and prefer that slight change of the backstrap.
