I'm thinking of getting either a Beretta 92FS or a Brigadier model. Is there anything that makes one better than the other? Do Brigadiers also come with plastic parts or is that isolated only to the 92FS?

Any pics to help me decide?

Brigs have a heavier slide for somewhat less felt recoil. Brigs have interchangeable front sights which I think makes them the only way to go.The plastic parts seem to be slipping into guns on a slow but sure basis. Any specific gun you may buy could actually be 2 yrs old and have no plastic.Or it might be recent production and have more plastic.Beretta seems to make guns in batches so it's hard to be specific about plastic parts. Good news is they are all relatively easily replaceable if you like.Good luck

the 92fs is sleeker, thinner, more classic and has more holsters avalable.

the brig has dovetailed sights which make exchanges a more practical matter and a heavier slide which should reduce pounding to the frame to the extent that the pistol should outlast the owner

I prefer the looks of the 92FS, but being able to change the sights on the Brig is also cool.

Is one more reliable than the other?

I have never had the need to change the front sights on my 92 compact and with a LPA adjustable rear sight I am good to go. I find the Brig to be a little bulky (kinda like the straw that broke the camel's back) but like all Berettas it is good.
