Beretta 92X RDO full size holster?

So yeah I've been looking for a level II holster for my 92X RDO. DARA makes a nice looking one and it's RMR cut, so far so good.

My question is will a holster for a M9A4 work with a 92X full size? The trigger guard on the 92X is rounded instead of squared and the barrel is not threaded. Otherwise it appears everything else is the same so my hopes are high.

I sent them an email but in the meantime, was wondering if anyone has some insight to share.

My understanding is the internal dimensions of the round and square trigger guards are the same, which is where most kydex (not counting your Level II and Level III holsters) holsters get their retention. You can probably put a round trigger guard gun in a square trigger guard holster, but perhaps not the other way around.

That's what I was thinking, everything else appears equal with the A4. Since it's called "custom" there are no refunds and they aren't especially inexpensive, so hopefully I will get an answer from them.

I asked if it would work. I did not ask if they made one specific for the 92X. It was obviously not on the list, which is why I asked in the first place. I'd be annoyed if this sort of thing were not so common now, "Hi there" has that personal touch...

Yes, that is the customer support people, who don't really know the product, answering the question, which really wasn't your question.

I'd suppose there is somebody at the company that really knows guns as well as their holsters who could probably give you the information you need, but they are probably busy making holsters and you're never going to get your question to them.

I suspect you were checking with DARA because Safariland's customer support was even worse.

I don't think they offer Level II stuff, but Palmetto Leather ( https://www.palmettoleather.com ) and JM Custom Kydex ( https://www.jmcustomkydex.com ) are two holster makers that seem to cover the Beretta line-up pretty well. They may not show a new model like the 92X RDO on their websites, but they can probably tell you if they can accommodate your needs.

After numerous dead ends, being just plain ignored and mounting frustration, I got an email back from Red River Tactical (https://rrtholsters.com/product-category/holster/) about their Level II duty holster.

.125 thick Kydex, RMR cut, thumb activated hood, drop offest with a strap for about $100? for a 92X RDO? Sign me up! With that kind of care for a potential customer how can I not?
