Beretta 96 Steel I

Can anybody give me any information on the Beretta 96 Steel I?
I have been thinking of getting one, if available. I hear they were a limited production gun. Any information and fair pricing would be a great help.

I love mine, but hated the price, got it for a "bargain" $1000 new.

Great trigger, great sights, cocked and locked single action.
