Hi , i was thinking of maybe buying a Cheetah 22lr for range shooting .
I just wondered are these pretty durable ?

I'm sure they are awesome, but that's a pretty expensive way to get a nice .22 LR

Isn't it?

The model 87 is an awesome pistol, but unless you plan to shoot competitively, there are more economical options.

If you want the Beretta name, the NOES is quite a little shooter for under $300.

Thanks for the info . Yes i know they are a bit more expensive . I just like way Beretta's handle :)

Is that the super deluxe target pistol or the one that looks like the 380? Ruger make some dedicated target pistols as do others but if you like the look of the 84,86,87 I'd just get it in 380. Good luck

Yes, these are outstanding firearms. Just expensive. They are a "shoot it for life and had it down to your kids" type, as are many other .22s.

Funny that this should come up - I ran across one in a local store on Friday, and haven't been able to get it out of my mind. It felt so good in my hand. :) The workmanship seemed to actually be better than the fine craft that I ordinarily see from Beretta.

Nice blue, crisp checkering on the walnut stocks . . . Ahhh, it was nice. It was also pricey, at about five and a half. I thought that was out of line (which sort of surprised me since this particular store is usually on the low side locally), but then I checked around online and found that's what they've been going for lately.

Anyway, this one was the PP-sized straight 87 (with the 8-rnd mags), not the 87 Target (with the 10-rnd mags). I wouldn't consider a standard 87 for competitive shooting . . . it's not set up for it. It's more of a Cadillac plinker; like USP9 says, an heirloom gun.

I'm still thinking about going back and getting it! ;)
