Beretta M9 / 92 series - what to look for

Hey guys,

So despite my thread about wanting a polymer frame handgun, I think I've decided on a Beretta M9 series. I've used them several times and like them a lot. Very comfortable, good trigger, good balance, etc.

Anyway, I need to know what I should be looking for when I go out to get one. There's several different versions that differ very slightly. M9, M92, M92F, M92FS, Elite, etc.

I want a very reliable gun, so should I be looking for the military options like chrome lined barrel and stuff like that? I want the standard looking black M9, so probably none of the Elites, but for all the little differences... what's worth it?

You may want to consider the Taurus clone of the Beretta. I've been VERY pleased with mine. I've read many posts by people who own both and the Taurus is considered a very close competitor.
