Beretta M9 Failures

Military guns lead hard lives. Most civilians would blanch at the way they are treated. You'd be amazed at how hard endless cleaning can be on a gun, not to mention the knocking around it gets. Most soldiers are not "gun people"; their weapons are simply tools for getting a job done.

this is the editions I think hes talking about. I have one as well, only has about 200 rounds through it, but I love to shoot it when Im back home from college.

I just got a new 92FS, 150 rounds and numerous FTF, FTE, and no slide lock back on last round. On top of that I have to pay to have it shipped back.

:fire:

Federal and Tula, had problems with both. In 9mm I've had Sig, CZ, and BHP that I've never had one problem with. My son is a less experienced shooter and had the bulk of the problems, but he's never had a problem with the above 9mms. When I was shooting the 92FS I had several failures of the slide to lock back on the last round.

As far as ammo, IMHO a gun should shoot any factory ammo.

I didn't read every post on this long thread so apologies if this has already been suggested. The stove piping etc may have been because the ammo was not powerful enough to cycle a stiff new gun (stiff recoil spring, friction of metal on metal, maybe not enough lubrication). Apparently only 35 rounds were fired. It is possible that after 50 or 100 rounds, the gun would have bedded in and the problem would have disappeared for good.

This pistol has had a lot of rounds through it- it is 'new', but definitely broken in. The ammo is almost certainly powerful enough- I think it translates to +p loads.
