I recently inherited a Beretta 86 (.380 with tip-up barrel design) that I like to shoot except for one caveat: the grip + magazine base lip aren't sufficiently long enough for my hand. As a result, my pinkie finger keeps sliding underneath the grip during shooting. Is there a gunsmith that could add another half inch to the magazine (in a flush manner) perhaps with steel or aluminum? Sort of like the base on the Sig P229 Sport magazine? I was thinking a steel part (versus aluminum) might increase the pistol mass significantly, but the result might offset some of the weight distribution at the front of the pistol.
