My coworker has an early model Taurus 9mm, the model that is the same as the original Beretta 92, that is, the safety is frame mounted and not on the slide.

I told him that I believe that the magazines for the Beretta 92 will work fine in his Taurus. Am I right or wrong?

The mag catch is in a different place. You can modify them to work but they won't activate the slide catch.

Nope, I'm afraid you've led your friend astray .. what kind if friend are you anyway ?! .. just kidding. Seriously though, no not without alteration. The mag catch cuts are in different places. One could be modified to lock though if you knew exactly where to make the cuts and had a steady hand with a dremel.

The mag catch on the Taurus is a little higher so you can cut a Beretta to fit. You can't use them in a Beretta afterwards just like you can't use the Taurus in the Beretta.
