Picked up a Beretta minx in .22 short today in preparation for a bottle and can hunt assuming that they are not too thick. Loved plinking with the gun but it would fail to ignite about 1-2 times a mag. On the second attempt, it would ignite---was using CCI mini mag shorts---any suggestions?

NIB and very accurate for such a small gun. I would like to keep it if I can get some reasonable reliabilty from it.

Thanks for any tips...

Try several brands of ammo and see what happens. This is why people say the 25 is a better carry than 22. Don't really want either for SD but sure don't want to hear click when I pull the trigger This seems to happen with 22's.

Make sure your chamber is good and clean.

It's easy for the outside lubricated .22 shorts to leave a ring of gunk in the chamber that will keep the cartridge from seating fully in the chamber. When you fire the gun the firing pin impact is cushioned to the extent that it won't fire. A rimfire cartridge needs really good support opposite the firing pin to be reliable.

Also check to make sure that the barrel/chamber face directly in line with the firing pin hasn't been peened by dry firing. AND check that the firing pin nose hasn't been damaged by dry firing.

B Bear--thanks for the tip. Is there a .22 short ammo that typically comes with less wax/oil ?
