Beretta PX4 - Advice needed

Local dealer has PX4 9mm, NIB for $300. I put it on hold until I get my pistol permit (NJ, about 2 week return). I dont own any 9mm, have 40SW and 45ACPs, (as well as multiple wheel guns). Gun would be a range toy (40s are carry, 45s for HD) or given to my son for his 21st b-day.

Any feedback about this firearm would be appreciated.

300!? How? I've shot about 150 rounds through one and will be buying one in no more than a month. I like the trigger a lot, ergo is very comfortable, the weight is just right for me, and it has smooth recoil. My other option would be a Sig P226, but for me being on more of a budget I figure that's more ammo/range time all while still being a quality pistol.

Seriously though if they are selling them for 300, do they ship them out or anything? Cheapest I've seen is 527 so I'm really baffled that's it new and all and even used that's still a deal.

almost 2 years ago - at Texas gun shows they were selling for $399 new. I had a 40 cal PX4 I bought that way and had for a while.

$300 does seem too good to be true for a new one, however

I had heard of them selling in the 400 range in years past because there wasn't quite the craze like there is now. That being said I'm not sure if I should try to wait for a gun show or just buy from bud's online or somewhere. Got me wonderin now with this 300 dollar super deal!

i just sold mine, used (before i got it), for $450 and got pushed into throwing in two full mags of FMJ. $300 for NIB is awesome, congratulations.

depending on which .40 you currently carry, you might end up shelving it and packing the Storm. cool little pistol. i only sold mine because i had to if i wanted the P250

It looks like a great price. Be sure to check whether it is a DA/SA PX4 or a DAO PX4.

Yeah, jump on that. That's a great deal on an amazing gun. All of the configurations are awesome, but makes sure YOU like whichever one it is. I have the F and love it, but I'd love a C as well.

I live up in northern NJ - real rural area. 2 weeks tops for a handgun permit.

If you don't buy it for $300 tell me where it is so I can. I have a Type F in 9mm and I'd love another especially a Type D. I nabbed a LEO Package for twice what you're gonna pay for yours. Buy it!!

I really like the design/ergo on the DA/SA PX4. If I hadn't gone with HK (USP) I would've got this I think... It seems, in general, like a great bargain from a reputable manufacturer.
The rotating safety mechanism seems clever and absolutely bomb-proof.

I would be very interested to hear some information on long-term wear and reliability.

Hmm, I just did a quick google search and I think I found their website. All px4's are listed for 620+ aside from a few on sale for 585 which is all way higher than normal. How did you get your 300 dollar quote? I'm very much interested and yet at the same time if their website is correct, they don't sell them for anywhere near that range or even what I'd consider a reasonable range. I know you were just asking questions on the gun, but sounds like I'm not alone in very much desiring a px4 in the 300 dollar range.

NIB for 300 is too good to be true. As mentioned above, make sure it's what you want i.e DA/SA F or G, or DAO.

If it is the trigger action you want, you'll not be disappointed, as they are totally reliable, dependable, accurate, once you get used to the Beretta sight picture (usually sight on target) and you'll appreciate the docile, well balanced, soft recoil because of the rotating barrel.

Just make sure you use a gun grease, Tetra white gun grease is good, in the rotating barrel slot groove and the return spring housing's bottom, that clks on-top of the barrel slot groove. You may also want to use the grease on the frame slide guides as well, and a light application down the slide rails.

Once you figure out which of the 3 backstraps makes for the best grip for ya, you might want to get a thin, Hogue International full fingered rubber slip-on sleeve for it, as well. They really help in keeping your grip constant without worry of sweat, dampness, etc., on your hands or on the plastic grips.

Tag said 1/2 price, retail $599, which according to the vendor is $300. Its currently on hold until I get my permit. I've handeled it and it has not been fired and all factory stuff (inc warrenty card) is included.

I dont ask why for the price - I just locked in on it.

Great move. When you do take delivery of it, make sure to fill out the extended warranty card that comes with it and send it to BUSA, within 30 days IIRC.

Also, if it has the white factory supernova glow sights (not that good) be careful not to wipe the fronts of the sights, mainly the white glow paint, as many have and they fall off. If it happens, just paint them white, using a toothpick and dab the white paint in the indented holes, and it will form a near perfect circle.

That, or replace them with 3-dot real night sights up the road.
