Just wondering who's had one and if it's better than other polymer guns in its class, such as S&W M&P or Glock.

I like the one i shot better than the Glocks i use to own. I havent tried the M&P but when i did hold it, it seemed the barrel sat too high, which could increase the preceived recoil. The PX4's rotating barrel does work. I compasred my buddies PX4 with my Beretta 92. The 92 weighs 5oz more and the PX4 had less recoil using the exact same rounds. It was more accurate in my hands as well. and im a decent shot with the 92.

I like my Beretta Storm SC better because it's DA/SA. If you like that action better, then Beretta is a good way to go. If you like/don't mind striker fired, then it's very tough to "beat" Glock or M&P - totally reliable and accurate - how else can one measure "better"?

I love the way all three shoot (although the Glock doesn't aim naturally for me) - but for carry I'm a DA/SA guy.

all three are fine pistols but the major difference is the px-4 is DA/SA and if the grip angle of the glock works for you or not.of the SA the m&p has a more comfortable grip(for me).

I have never held a pistol that was more comfortable in my hand than my M&P, but I shoot my Px4 better. I think the rotating barrel makes a difference. I only bought the Px4 because I wanted the pistol/carbine "set", I have since started to like the looks of it...I was sold on the accuracy on the first trip to the range. Glocks are dependable, but my grip isn't square so they are uncomfortable to me.

After a long evaluation and a borrow of one, I bought a PX-4 9mm yesterday to "celebrate" the president elect.

Just for reference I have owned or heavily used the following poly pistols:

M&P9 (still own, my wife's favorite)
XD-9 (gone)
Walther P99 (gone)
HK USP 45c (gone)
Glock 17 (rented)
Glock 20 (borrowed)

First of all, the PX-4 is pretty darn accurate and soft shooting in my hands. It doesn't seem to suffer from balance problems as it empties.

The one I borrowed was stone reliable, I expect no less from mine. I have owned about 8-10 other Beretta duty sized guns and none has ever failed.

The PX-4 has a good spread of size options to get its grip right for the hand, though changing them is pretty hard compared to the S&W or Walther. I got rid of my XD because I couldn't alter the trigger reach. The PX-4 is better vertically in the grip length than the M&P which rubs my middle finger with its trigger guard.

I like the aggressive checkering of the polymer on the Beretta. Not too rough and not too slick. The XD sucked in how smooth it is. The Glocks have idiotic built in finger bumps. The M&P is pretty nice too except for the rubbing.

I like having a hammer. Though I own and have fired striker fired pistols, I trust a visible hammer more for some reason.

I'd rather have a trigger disconnect than a mag disconnect.

The action is smooth. I like that it uses a locking block rather than lock squared on the ejection port. A block is a cheaper part to replace than a slide.

The glow in the dark paint on the sights is surprisingly good on the PX-4. When I first encountered it, I wasn't expecting much, but they didn't cheap out on the paint mix. There is some serious europium oxide in that paint.

I really like the pistol. The trigger being DA/SA probably keeps it from be objectively the "best." It's more like squarely in the "great" territory with the S&W and the Glock, but better than even the H&K of my experience.

My only other minor complaint is how tight the last four rounds into the mags are, but Beretta was wise enough to include a mag loading tool and they will eventually loosen up to the edge of thumb busting, like most Beretta OEM mags.

Thanks for the review Boats. I've been considering purchasing a PX4 in 9mm or maybe even .40 S&W providing I find one at a price that's acceptable to me.

I am actually considering the PX4 now... that or the 92FS... who knows I keep hopping around eventually I am just going to buy one and be done with it.

I am thinking more... Practical... M&Ps are so hard to find around here it isn't funny... 92FS are fairly easy to get ahold of and definitely not bad guns... the PX4 I have no idea but Glocks, XDs, and M&Ps are myths in this area.

Just look at all the PX4's just tearing up the ISPSA and IDPA competition circuits... NOT!

Congratulations on hitting upon possibly the most stupid reason to own a handgun.

Storm Pstol

I enjoy mine that I have had for a couple years.

The glock and S& W are fine pistols and I have shot hem.

The Storm is very soft on recoil. (I have 9MM) I have it for home defense and range use.

It fits me well as I have large hands and put the large backstrap on it. no problems with hundreds of rounds through it.

I like the Glock and M&P as well, I like the big mags 17 rounds

Compares well with those, I found the Sig 226 nicer to shoot but $300 more so I got the Berretta.

Fine pistol that I trust.

God bless
