Beretta Tomcat 3032 Cracked Frame

I just bought a new Beretta Bobcat 21A at Academy. Of course, I bought it before I ever saw this thread. great.....

I have not heard of any problems with the Bobcat. If it were not for the crack the Tomcat would be nearly an ideal CCW.

The theory seems to be that the Inox does NOT? crack. If that is the case,178 dollars would be real bargain. It is tempting for those who have experienced poor customer service and disrespect to wish to boycot the company. This could lead to boycotting almost all the gun companies. The problem is that the big gun companies are out to make as much money as they can as cheaply as possible. If their products do not work or break down under use, that's too bad but it's not much of a legal concern. They get in legal hassel when the guns actually work as advertised and none at all when they are defective. If the customer doesn't like it-fine. There are always new customers coming along to take their place.

I have an INOX and have had no problems. I love it for light summer time carry as I can put it in the pocket of cargo shorts and it's invisible. My gf loves it too for the tip up barrel.

Apparently Beretta also redesigned the blued models bulking them up and making the frame a bit thicker like the INOX version. That's supposed to take care of the cracking problem, at least from what I've read and heard.

I just inspected my tomcat bought when they first came out no problem so far. I've shot maybe 100 rds. from now on practice rounds will be lightly loaded cast slugs.
I have a BDA .380acp made by Beretta - fine pistol but I'll never buy another Beretta product due to the weaseling they've pulled concerning this pistol, should have been a recall issued.

Tomcrap 3032

I loved the INOX Tomcat, but read where the frame is the same as the blue version. So I stripped mine and sure enough, the notorious crack right where everyone else said theirs cracked. My dealer just sent it in, but I emailed Beretta to ask how I can be confident in the repair. They told me they are beefing up the slide.

But I have a beefed up slide in the Inox. What are they going to do about my frame? Are you simply going to replace the frame with the same garbage that cracked?

"I'm just a tech. I'm not an engineer. This is the fix and they haven't had any problems."

Inquiry marked "solved." Not by a long shot!

State's Attorney, Florida is next UNLESS Beretta can describe the frame fix to my satisfaction.

I have 4 guns over 30 years old. S&W had to replace the spring on a 469 9mm about a year ago. They sent it to me at NO CHARGE! Darn gun is old and I bought it used. The other 3 guns have required no service aside from cleaning.

Never, ever Beretta again.

Quite a few years ago I had a Beretta 950, .25 acp which developed some kind of serious problem but honestly, right now I don't remember exactly what it was. I sent it to Beretta, I'm pretty certain on my own dime, but Beretta checked it out and replaced the entire pistol with a new one and shipped it back, probably through my local dealer if I recall. They had not yet dropped the 950 from production at that time but there was no quibbling from Beretta about repairs, or charges or anything. The replaced the firearm without question. I don't understand the vagaries of customer service. I've always been weirdly attracted to the Tomcat but it serves no need for me and I've read enough problem stories that I have never purchased, nor would I. Even Beretta did not recommend all .32 ammo for them. That tells me something right there.

Resurrecting an older thread here but I was reading some more stuff on the Tomcat.

That is what my wife carries and I am not sure how much I trust it.

Her first Tomcat had a cracked frame. At first I thought it was jamming up on her because she might be limp wristing. Then I thought it just needed to be broken in. Then the thing just started falling apart!

We finally called Beretta and they said send it in.

We shipped it to them and they sent her a brand new Tomcat Inox which is more expensive than the original Tomcat we initially bought.

I thought that was awesome of Beretta to do that.

So far her new Beretta has been shooting just fine.

She's had it for about three years now.
