I have a Beretta u22 neos that I would love to find a simple mod to do to it's trigger . It sometimes can be a little hard to pull feels like a very heavy trigger any help would be great.

Yeah, I bought one of the original ones when they first came out. Trigger on that one was pretty good. Then they had a recall on the NEOS, something about the potential of the gun going off while in safe. So I turned it in for work. Beretta responded and said that they were just going to replace the whole firearm and send me a new one. I thought great, pretty cool that I'm getting a new gun.

The new NEOS comes in. Yeah, the trigger was/is atrocious. It's gritty, no feel, and no reset. I've only fired it once since receiving the new one and it just sits in my safe.

The other unfortunate issue with the NEOS is that Beretta initially had a 22 rifle conversion kit. Looked nice, but it was quickly taken off the market. Undoubtedly something about it the ATF didn't like.

I'll probably end up trading it in as I don't like firing it due to feeling frustrated with the trigger.

Good Luck.

I have an early one that I bought mostly for the kids to use (this way I got to reclaim my Beretta Model 70S). The trigger is okay; functional but nothing to write home about. Had the safety recall done and never have had any sort of problem with the gun, either before or after. Feels a bit top heavy to me but my one daughter really loves it so who am I to say how the gun handles and balances for me. The one nice thing about the Neos is it's magazines: well made, easy to load (ask me how I know this me being the faithful gun bearer and loader while the kids blaze away!), and are relatively inexpensive. All in all a decent plinker that didn't cost a lot of money.

It's a nice gun but would be really nice if the trigger was lighter so I figured I would try to get help here.

I have seen mention of some ‘work ups’ to lighten the trigger. I’ll look for them, but you could probably google it and find it faster

I used to own one, I believe on berettaforum they talk about using a spring from a bic pen in place of a factory spring to reduce the pull weight. I don’t remember the specifics but did read up on it there, but never got around to doing it since I sold it to fund a Ruger MKIV. Might be worth doing a search on there.

I have Google's it but for some reason I can't find anything on it. The bic pin spring sounds easy enough I just need to find out what needs to be removed in order to install it

Before the recall, about all you had to do is replace the sear spring with a "bic lighter" spring, and maybe do some polishing. See part #25 here.

Then Beretta changed the striker design (part #29) with a deeper sear notch. Which is what guns sent in for the recall got, and new guns made from from that point on came with.

I had a pre-recall Neos, did a bic lighter spring job and then sent it in for the recall once that notice was public. The trigger went from acceptably nice, to something with much more creep due to the deeper sear notch.

The gun was reportedly harder to accidentally fire if dropped, but the trigger was never as good as before. I think many Neos owners that sent their pistol in for the recall regretted doing so. Which does apply if you are only loading the chamber when ready to fire.

Look to see if the there is still info on the Hexidismal Beretta Neos trigger job, and proceed at your own risk.

I finally seen a video of taking the gun apart and it looks like alot of work plus I don't want to take the chance of stripping the slotted screw to get to the sear and spring. I decided to take as much apart as I felt comfortable doing and polished it all up and to be honest it seems to alot better than it was so I think I will try it for a while and see how it goes. I do want to thank everyone for there help I do appreciate it.
