As I've posted elsewhere, I really don't need a new rifle. Nevertheless, I've been intrigued by the Bergara line. I've had a couple of Bergara barrels for my Encores that shot well. Now they appear to be building with the B-14 line what the Remington 700 should be, had Remington kept up with the times.

I've been eyeing the B-14 HMR for a while, but I'm not interested in adding a 6.5mm Creedmoor to the fold as I'm pretty invested in the .260 Remington. I don't need another .308 either. I emailed Bergara last year to ask if they had plans for a 6mm Creedmoor and was told "No." However, their website now lists the 6mm CM as an option: 26-inch barrel, 1:8 twist. That really has my attention!

So what's the current thinking on the B-14 HMR? I'd welcome some experienced input.

1-10 sounded slows so i had to go check they site again, which list the barrel length, twist, and caliber in a very confusing way.
looks like the 6mm CM comes with a 26" 1-8 twist barrel. The 1-10 is for the 300wm.
I have a B-14 Timber, and if they ever offer the HMR in a 26" 7mag ill own one of those as well.

Yeah, I caught that myself. 1:8 it is (edited my OP accordingly). I like 7mm, too, but would prefer a .280 AI ...

How do you like the Timber?

Best 700 ive ever owned.....Its much smoother than any of the remingtons ive got.

Its not the most accurate rifle i have, or at least i havent found a load it really likes, but it keeps a very consistent 1-1.25 going with everything ive put thru it. Its an 06.

I've shot a couple Bergara encore barrels as well that were extreamly accurate, but I bought a savage and an AR15 barrel from them last year that were both pretty ho hum so I wonder if there barrel making is what it's cracked up to be. No experience with the b14 past handling one in the store.
