Bersa 1911, Who Knew?

I had no idea, I havent done any research and the link below is the first link I came across for this will looking for something else. Just thought it was interesting.
Anyone have an opinion or heard anything about Bersa and thier 1911s?

duuno why exactly, but that phrase in their advertising doesn't fill me with confidence

also seems a tad odd that they refer to it as Single/Double action

Huh... Oldfool makes a good point. I'm not to sure about "explode at your command" being a good marketing phrase.

Maybe they are trying to go the kabooming glock route

As for the single/double action, maybe they use the old fast saftey (or is it saftey fast?) system that some were putting on the 1911's and hi-powers?

Well, if it's anything else like the rest of their handguns, it will be amazing for the price.

One of the other listings for a Bersa 1911 states it's from the Phillipines, presumably the same factory as every other rebranded 1911. But Bersa does have pretty good QC, so they might have instructed them to "make it right," now "make it good enough."

I'll pick one up and check it out if I find one at a gun show.

I own three ]3[ of these pistols made by Metro Arms located in the Philippines. I know you think a cheap knock off right ? Wrong ! The machines are from Colt and the people who set up and started the manufacturing are also Colt people. This gun is a well made easy shooting 1911-A and will stand against Kimber,Colt and other clones on the range. Shake the weapon, not a sound. Night sights, oversize controls, oversize beaver tail and a trigger you can adjust travel on make this a great buy.I have Hakan grips made in Norway on my guns and it makes them stand out on the range or on my hip.I place this along side my Bersa 45''s and other clones that I own and it stands out as a winner both for self-defense and range work. I don't think Bersa has anything to do with the American Classics products from Metro Arms except that at one time they were distributed by the same folks in NJ. I have had one for about a year (Firestorm rollmark, same company), probably 1500 rounds and absolutely no problems except received with a loose rear sight set screw. it has a nice blued finish compared with parkerized on my Rock and Citadel. http://www.americanclassic1911.com/

They have been out for a while now.

They're actually the same guns as the new Firestorm 1911s. I have one and its worked very well.

They're from the Philippines, not Argentina.

I think Bersa has nothing to do with this 1911.

Firestorm it's an "umbrella" brand (similarly to EAA) with firearms coming from different manufacturers, including Bersa for some models (the blowback 380, 32 and 22 for example).

I'm pretty sure this one is not a Bersa.

I believe that is an error on the part of Midwest Hunters Outlet, not Bersa.

The only thing in common with Bersa is their imported by same Dist. America classic is a great pistol, I have had serial #78 since 2008 and its been a great shooter right out of box. Will shame my Colts on the range and rivals my Dan Wesson on frame to slide fitting.
These dealers can't seem to keep the brands straight Comes from Eagle must be a Bersa. Even Buds does this
On my Bersa board I have a section for them as many of us own the American Classic These once more are made in Philippines by Metro Arms Not By Bersa in Argentina
NO CONNECTION TO BERSA IN ANY WAY EXCEPT SAME IMPORTER AND WARRANTY CENTERS USED.
Their is a Gov model GI type and A deluex Government Both now in blue or hard chrome Just added a Commander in Blue or hard chrome and a trophy Model in Hard chrome only .
All are the 70 series type no firing pin block no silly fully length guide rods Their 1911 Compatible on parts I have swapped a few Colt parts on mine for fun and to check out
