Fired 100 rds of the Winchester Value pack .380 rd through my Bersa Thunder at the range today and the slide consistently didn't lock back at the last round. After about 400 rds though it, this is the first time its happened.

It didn't happen with the previous value pack I shot though it (or with any of the CorBon, Golden Sabre or other ammo) so I'm wondering what gives.
The slide failed to lock back with both mags as well.

Just wondering if this is a one time thing or if something is wrong.

Sorry to hear of your problem,i would check the slide release and see if it's damaged or has a build up of gunk around it.Also check your mag springs, when they get weak they can fail to push up the slide release quick enough to lock the slide.

Hi, The_Shootist :)

I'll echo bpisler towards checking the mag spring, or the slide catch and its spring.

However, it could merely be debris/deformation around the mag tube and/or follower, retarding the timely ascent of the follower (aka feeder platform) during the last slide cycle. Easy enough to take the mag apart and have a look-see.

Anemic cartridges can also fail to push the slide back far enough for the upward-proinging slide catch to.. well, catch anything.

Bersa Issue

Didn't think about the mags - I'll check those out.

But I DID notice when I was cleaning it tonight some gunk around the slide release. I made some extra effort getting it cleaned so we'll see if that helps.

As well, next weekend, I'll dun another 100 GS (my carry round) through it
to make sure it would be functional in more than just a range session :D
