Bersa Model 97 - need help quick

Need help quick Bersa fans!

I have a friend here at work who acquired one of these in .380 ACP, without a manual. Nice little gun to shoot, but he can't get it apart to clean it.

I've tried, but can't figure it out either. It doesn't have the takedown lever on the side of the frame like the model 95.

Anybody know how to field strip this thing?

garrettwc, I too hope someone has some info on this pistol. My father recently got a model 97 and a box of .380 ammo from the friend of a friend in perfect shape but no manual or info on the gun. I would mainly like to know how to field strip it also. I can't seem to find any info on the internet anywhere.

You need to check with Horge and the bunch at Bersa Thunder chapterhouse. I am certain that they can either give you the procedure or direct you to where it can be found. I have a Thunder .380, but as you noted the take-down is different.

Thanks Dadx4. We did some poking around there during lunch, but all they have is for the newer Thunder and a couple of other models. Couldn't find the 97 mentioned anywhere.

Did see a thread about their forum getting hacked, so maybe the stuff I need was lost.

Leave a message at chapter house and also ask at http://bersatalk.com Might be someone their that can help. Horg is member and mod their also. He's in states visting now and is all little hard to catch. But he is a walking book on Bersa's.

Please note they are discussing the .22lr model but the procedure is the same. There is also a link in the thread to a European website that has a complete exploded parts diagram.
