Hello everyone, I have a Bersa Thunder 380 that I bought 10 years ago. From day one, it would jam (falure to feed) once or twice per box of 50 rounds. It was my first ever firearm, so I thought it was normal. Once I learned it wasn't normal, I attributed it to the gun being inexpensive, and because the main role was plinking, I didn't bother to get it fixed, until now.
I took it to a very reputable gunsmith who immediately asses the issue; the magazine was sticking out of the bottom a bit much, so he spot welded the magazine catch, which makes the bottom of the mag fit more flush. I took it to the range and voila! no jams at all.
Now for the part I need help with. After cleaning it from my last range trip, I inspected the feed ramp and noticed that the anodizing is wearing off in a couple of small spots. I only shoot FMJ, no hollowpoints. Does the ramp wear look reasonable for about 2000 rounds to you? should I be alarmed?
Now that the gun functions flawlessly I intend on putting a lot more rounds through it but didn't want to run into an issue with the aluminum feed ramp. I also don't want to spend too much money refinishing the frame, considering the rest of the gun is in pretty good shape.
