I just bought a Bersa Thunder .380 on Gun Broker for under $200.

Good choice, or bad choice ? What do you think ?

I'll let you know what I think when I receive it (if the Chief Administrative Officer doesn't kill me before then).:uhoh:

A bit late to ask about the gun AFTER you bought it isn't it...... without a link to the auction or at least a description, I would say its pert near impossible for anybody to offer a meaningful opinion on your purchase

New or used? I've been reading/watching a lot on the thunder 380 and it seems they are great guns for the money. Buds had new nickel finish Thunders for $280 the other day, all gone now.

I had a Bersa Thunder .380 traded it in on a PK380, wish I still had the Bersa. I liked the PK but realized that I preferred the Bersa. It was a stout gun and felt good in the hand. I received a Sig P230 from my father and like it much more. I no longer have the PK, I wouldn't mind having another Bersa someday. Good pistol.

I bought a new one around a year ago for around $300. Maybe a touch more OTD. It has been a good gun. I like it much better than the ultra micro 380's out there. 200 bucks for a decent used one sounds good to me.

I bought a new one from Academy in Houston about 5 years ago. It was $279. The pistol fit perfectly in my hand, easy to aim & shoot, and I really liked it and considered it for EDC. But it consistently stove piped the empty shell on the fifth round so EDC was out of the question. I tried Fiocchi, WWB and PMC, same results.

I now have a Ruger LCR .357 for obvious reasons. YMMV

The price sounds abourt right. My Bersas were all guns I tried to love but couldn't. Not reliable enough and in some cases difficulties or poor quality turned me off. They are cheap for a reason. Most people like them and I hope you enjoy yours.

Their are at present 3 Bersa Thunders in my house I have 2 and my oldest daughter has 1

I use S&B ammo for target and Corbon for carry.

I have heard mostly good things about them, and that is a good price. I would probably get one myself, but three 380's seems like enough for the time being. :)

I too have a Bersa Thunder- it has been a reliable accurate gun.
It actually was my wife's first carry gun, she picked it, not me. I was just glad to get her shooting some. She has now switched to a j-frame.

Personally I don't do carry guns with a safety and since .380 generally costs more than 9mm I have no real use for it.

I figure $200 for a nickle one is about right- too much for a blued one.

I've had one since mid-2008. Great shooter, and surprisingly reliable despite numerous attempts to get it to jam. Carried it quite a bit, though have since switched to the lighter and flatter Kel-Tec PF9. The Bersa, however, is a lot more enjoyable to shoot than the KT is.

Two bills is a fair price around here, assuming it's in near-new condition.

Bought my BT380 new from a kitchen-table FFL, probably 2008 also. Paid $230 for it spanking new, it's all black and has no internal lock. Always been a good little pistol, but I need to drift the rear sight to the right just a skosh.

I carry one from time to time. I really like them. I have the early model with rounded trigger guard and fixed sights. It's been perfectly reliable and very accurate. Lighter, but slightly larger, than a PPK.

And with a much better DA pull than any PPK!

I have one, the Concealed Carry model. Except for the Russian ammo, I've had no problems with it. I don't know how many rounds have been through it, and no problems. The Russian ammo is steel cased and doesn't even seem to fit the mags like it should. About every other shot would FTE. All other ammos have been flawless. I gave $259 for it at the LGS when it was new, in 2011. Wouldn't take for it. It's my carry gun.

The Thunder 380, and Thunder 22 are good pistols. I have both, and they have been 100% reliable. My Thunder 380 will drill the center of the target, at 25 yards, all day long. They have a bit more felt recoil when compared to a locked breech pistol, but are still enjoyable. Heres a tip... Find the magazines for the now discontinued Thunder 380 DELUXE. It used a 9 round magazine, and fits, and works in the regular Thunder 380(doesnt work in the ThunderCC model). It makes your Thunder 380 9+1, and the only drawback is a slightly larger magazine floorplate.

I had several failed to eject with my Bersa Thunder which I bought used. I took the spring out of the magazine, stretched it between my two hands, put it back together and have since put several hundred rounds through it without a problem. It is a good low priced weapon that is easy to carry and fun to shoot.

Had a Bersa Thunder well over 10 years. Carried it today, totally reliable. Excellant pistol. I think I paid around $179 back then.

The Bersa I have has been 100% reliable, that's not saying all Bersa's are the same. I hope you are not buying somebodies problem.

FWIW...my 380 thunder is a great gun. Very reliable. I don't carry it but do take it to the range often....more now that I'm loading 380 ACP.

We bought one in 2008 used, for my wife to shoot. It's been accurate and reliable in both of our hands. Exactly what you want in a handgun.

The one we have has gold accents on the trigger and hammer. It came like that. I jokingly call it the Saddam Hussein memorial model.

It's a good gun, and it does its job well. I would carry this gun, but I have others that fit that role as well.

I'd probably replace the gold parts before I carried it, though. :D

Shot one once. Double action trigger pull was awful. Very long, and very heavy. You keep expecting it to break and it never does until your fingers start to lose leverage from having pulled too far. My Polish P-64 (PPK variant) with a Wolff spring has a much better trigger. It's heavy, but not too long.

Bersa Thunder .380 Pickup

I got the notice that my gun has been delivered to the local FFL dealer today. I called him and I have an appointed time to pick it up, etc. tomorrow.
Will advise results of same.:)

P.S. - Chief Administrative Officer knows of results, and I'm still alive. Good save.:D
