Asking for a buddy. Remington 700 1-12 twist he likes 50gr hornady v max a lot and wants to reload them. What's you favorite powder for this combo? Magnum,br or standard primers? Any other tips are welcome. Right now he's got target turrets and can shoot a woodchuck to 400+ yards so it would be great to keep it that way.

He must work up the load for his rifle. The primer has to do with the powder used, not the bullet construction. Magnum primers are about the powder too. Rarely needed by typical .22-250 powders. Unless he's shoot coyotes in the cold. Never seen any advantage to BR primers myself.
"... a woodchuck to 400+ yards..." That'd be him, mostly. A chuck at 400 is an itty-bitty, wee, small, tiny target he's lucky he can even see.
Anyway, Hornady claims they get 3800 FPS out of a 24" barrel. No mention of what twist, but that's not unusual as factory load testing uses a universal receiver not an actual rifle. Any powder that gives that kind of muzzle velocity will do. Mostly Max or very close to Max loads run 3800 FPS. Hodgdon's site tested with a 1 in 14, 24", barrel so the velocities will be slightly different. Tell him to look at the Factory Duplication load in his manual, if the one he uses has that, too. The Lyman manual does.

Winchester lr primers, imr4895 start 30 Max 34. better start at start like always work up .5 to the top. Nosler published load, worked for dad's interarms mkx with 50 gr pills for me, 2.35" coal

We both now workups, etc. just trying to keep from him buying a bunch of different powders like I did that don't work well. I have a hornady and Lyman manual. He loaded before but sold all his stuff a few years back but those 50gr factory v max and getting expensive and hard to find.

Mine likes H380. RL15, Varget, IMR4064, IMR4320, IMR8208, In that order, but especially H380.
Lg Rifle primer,(isn't picky) 2.235"oal, 39.0gr 50gr bullet.
Shoots in the .3's

Hodgdon load data for the 22-250 specifies a 14" twist. I don't suppose it would matter with the 50 grainers but with heavier ones I'd be inclined to start conservatively, regardless of propellant type.

for those who care he went with h380 and worked up a load and ended with 3 shots one hole at 100yards but is very close to hodgdon max.

That's a popular one, if he's near Max, advise him of the temp sensitivity if he doesn't know already....
i checked the jug the other night just for that stamp and told him don't leave them in the sun or anything.

41 is max hes at 39.3. not that close I guess but close enough.
