Back on topic: Buy a rifle, then save until you can afford an upper end scope, like a leupold or a swaroski or something else high quality. You can spend as much as you like on your rifle and ammo, it isn't worth a damn if you can't hit it because you can't see it. The sting from an $800 scope hurts once.
