t57 taiwan mags or usgi mags are the only ones I would buy. The t57 can be had for approx. $15 ea.

The mags currently for sale as T57s are NOT real T57s. They are a crap shoot, I know guys who have had 5 good ones and 5 bad ones from the same order.

Anyway, REAL USGI mags can be had for 25ish, so why spend 17.50 on a maybe?:cuss:

People have been having good luck with the CM mags. They made by Checkmate and are available at several places on the net for $19.99-$24.99.I know Checkmate 92FS mags have gotten a bad rep from our troops overseas, but the 92FS mags are likely only part of the problem with 92FS reliability

I bought one of the 25rndrs listed as USGI Contract (yeah right!) from R-Guns and it worked just fine. Pretty well built.

Armalite had lots of USGI M-14 mags for sale for $25. You could send back any suspect ones to be swapped out. Most of mine are BW marked.

I have enough to provide about 800rnds continous fire :D Then its time to move to the FALs.

US forces in Iraq and Afganistan are issued m-14's, does anyone know if they are using early production mags or has the dod sought any on the civilian market

It is my understanding that CheckMate Industries (sp???) has the current USGI contract.

It is also my understanding that Springfield Armory, Inc. is buying their magazines from CMI.

I recently bought several of the CMI mags and they are GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I wouldn't trust the T57 or their knock-offs. (That's just my demons. . . )
