Hi, I am thinking now I like to get an AK to finalize my pre-inauguration stock up and I am wondering what is the best AK you can find for under $800 that can be considered good. Many have told me Russians are best, Chinese are second, Bulgarians third, Romanians fourth. However, I don't know what to make of these statements, and I am sure everyone has their own opinion.
I was considering a Saiga .308 carbine, but I like the availablity of mags and lower price of ammo of the AKs. Plus, I suppose the AKs are more reliable although less accurate than the Saigas. The Saiga .308 is ideal I think for low price and effective commie rifle, but I think the 22 in barrel is bit bulky for a dual purpose medium, close range gun. From my undersatnding, it seems more like a long range gun. Again I am not very knowledgable, but going by word of mouth and what others told me.
What would people's suggestions be for choosing a good AK/Saiga style gun? I have seen a few WASRs under $700. Sad, before the election I saw one for sale for $350, now price has doubled.
Yes, I know I will hear some people say, oh just wait and prices will go down. With Barack Hussein and the ultra left-wing gun grabber crew coming to power, I just cannot let anyone else say this to me. Yeah, best scenario, i will be put on a waiting list for 2 years, so I can get my newly imported AK for a reasonable price; as if ithat will ever happen.
The reason I want an AK is for reliability and ease of carrying. I have two DPMS ARs, but I know ARs are notorious for jamming.
I am right now thinking of purachsing one of the following:
1. Romanian Ak47 WASR
2. Romanian AK47 Poly
3. Bulgarian AK47
4. Saiga .308
5. Saiga 7.62 x 39 (???) not sure about the advantage of this, more accurate than AK?
6. Polish AK47 (Heard some mix reviews of this one)
I am interested to hear what people think of this. Thanks.
