eh? It does affect the pull weight. That's its point. The little safety trigger thingy doesn't really affect the pull weight, but that's seperate. I'm not exactly sure which part of the mechanism you're refering to.I dont understand how the adjustment does not affect the pull weight.
I spoke with John a bit ago. Very nice guy, but unfortuantely he's out of the 10FPs. He also said that when he can get more of them they're probably going to be more expensive than I can get them locally and already have them in the pipeline. So it looks like Wallyworld is going to be my tactical supplier.carnaby said:Hold the phone! You can probably save yourself around $100 if you buy from JDyer here on the forum. Great guy to deal with. My sister just ordered hers from him. He runs a gun store in Georgia, charges low shipping rates and has excellent prices. I think his price for the 10FP (with Choate stock) was $622. You won't have to pay sales tax, and the scope will come with free shipping. FFL of $20 - $30 and you should save a lot of money.
For comparison, his price for a 12FVSS was $520 + $18 shipping + $20 FFL
Walmart is $566 + $45 tax (at 8%) + tax on scope + tax on bipid + tax on rings and base.
He'll have the low price on the optics and all that too, I bet. At least give him a call, he'll hook you up!

Welp, the 10FP has everything I was looking for; synthetic stock, pillar bedded, 24" heavy barrel, extra swivel stud for bipod, and at a price I can afford. Based on stuff I read here and other places it seemed the best buy.carnaby said:D'oh!
Why are you going 10FP instead of 10FV exactly? I know he has those for $433.
Wally world is ok. I bought my Savage at GI Joes here in Washington.
Yeah!I have the order in, and I'd just assume leave it.
Good choice. I've got that scope on my 10FP and really like it and the mildot system. Had the shorty Harris bipod on it for awhile, but took it off and now shoot off a rest or sandbags. The original stock is just a little too flimsy for bipod attachment IMHO.For those of you interested, I've also the scope, mounts, and bipod. Here's the final configuration:
Rifle: Savage 10FP .308
Scope: SWFA Super Sniper 10X42M
Base: Ken Farrell SAV-RTS-1-20 (20 MOA)
Rings: Ken Farrell 30mm Standard
Bipod: Harris LM-S
I'm REALLY looking forward to it.R.H. Lee said:Good choice. I've got that scope on my 10FP and really like it and the mildot system.
