I've been using some polish that came with my tumbler but its almost empty now....What is a good brass polish that i can pick up locally? I've heard a lot of people use car wax. Whats the best one and where can i find it? I like shiny cases!!!

oneounceload, thanks thats what i was looking for. Wallyworlds only 3 miles from me.

i'm going to run 1,000 9mm cases this weekend. How much Nu Finish do you recomend i put in?

And run your tumbler several minutes to let the Nu-Finish dry before you put the brass in.

Mayhap he likes shinney brass, I know I do, as I like my cars washed and waxed, my lawn mowed, my hair cut, my cloths clean and pressed, my firearms oiled and rust free, I can keep going but I think you get the idea.

Oh ya! My diamond rings are shinney as is my watch, and no its not a timex.

I've only used Dillions Rapid Polish and it works great for cleaning and shining brass.

I prefer a spray wax. It adds more moisture, which is what your media loses more of between batches. And the fine spray doesn't cause clumping. Spritzing even pure water on your media will increase the shine and decrease the tumbling time.

I use NuFinish, still working on the same bottle I bought three years ago. It goes a long way and does a nice job on the brass.

Flitz tumbling additive is the best I have used in 20 years of loading. I throw a shot of mineral spirits into the walnut as well.

Don't forget to throw in a couple strips of used dryer sheet into each batch of brass you tumble,it will help keep your media cleaner and last longer.

You like shiny...get into jewelry.
My brass is shinier than my jewelry, and that's how I like it. :)

I am using polish from Midway right now, but have used others, and they all work. I have had some New Finish sitting on the shelf for years and haven't tried it yet. I guess I need to do that soon since my bottle of polish is almost out.

I use NuFinish cut 50% with Mineral Spirits. Add a capful to each tumbler load and wear your sunglasses.

I wonder how it would work if you cut up a can of that NeverDull stuff into little pieces and added it to your media...

Any automotive polishing compound. I have used turtle wax, and it seems to last the longest. I put about a half teaspoon of the paste compound in the tumbler and it works wonders. I haven't even seen factory brass this nice.

FYI, its the turtle wax polishing compound in the ~4in diameter tub. it is a paste, so just let it work into the polishing media well. I use walnut lizard bedding that, or Meguiars ultimate compound.

I'm glad I saw this post. I just ran out of the polish that came with my tumbler. I bought a bottle of NuFinish about a year ago but want sure how much to use.

Do the mineral spirits really help that much and is there anything in mineral spirits that could shorten the life of the brass?
