I have used up all my 69gr sierra bullets and only fired about 20 of them through the scar. At 100 yards I am pushing 1" groups with standard 55gr store bought bullets using a eotech and a magnifier. I know the barrel is a 1:7 twist. Should I buy the more expensive heavier bullets or just go with the 55gr rounds?

That barrel loves a heavier bullet. I found the Hornady 75gr VMAX to be an outstanding round. It will do fine with the 55 gr stuff but really loves the 75 gr.

By the way, how do you think the Scar compares to the Sig 556?

Not sure as I have not seen a sig 556. I cant compare to something I have not shot. I love my scar, very accurate, lightweight, and ergonomical for me. Best .223 I have ever owned.

Try anything else except 55 grain FMJ-BT's.

FMJ GI style bullets are one of the least accurate bullets yet invented.

I have had excellent accuracy results in several rifles with Nosler 250 count bulk-pack Ballistic-Tips, or Hornady V-Max.
