I don't really like IWB or pocket holsters for concealed carry. I've been considering the pancake style holsters. How good are they for concealed carry? Are they comfortable? Do they print? My carry pistols are the Ruger LC9 and Glock 27.

I've got a couple of OWB leather holsters (one Galco, one DeSantis). Both are very comfortable. Whether or not they print depends in part on your wardrobe. I almost always wear a jacket of some kind, so printing isn't really an issue for me. In jeans and a t-shirt, printing might be more of an issue. I frequently carry a G19, if that helps in your assessment.

A pancake is probably the most concealable of the OWB holsters due to holding the weapon close to the body and they are comfortable with the proper belt. They are more likely to print than an IWB, depending on the cover garment and your build.

I use both a OWB pancake holster and a Belly Band, depending on what I am wearing. I use them with a SCCY CPX2. As stated it all depends on what you are wearing on whether you print or not.:)

New carry rig....

I like the new AS7 series Safariland. It has a new polymer blend that reduces scuffs & nicks to gun surfaces. It's light & easy to convert. Belt, paddle, high ride, med(regular), low ride, cross draw, adj belt width. :D
It fits Glock 26/27/33 & comes in black or FDE(dark tan). The holster sells for about $35-40.00.
I'm left handed & would buy one for my Glock 21 gen 04 when it's on the market.

Other good holster brands include Don Hume, Galco, Bianchi, High Noon Holsters, Ted Blocker, Greg Kramer, Mitch Rosen, Mernickle, Wright Leather Works, G Code.

The Predator from Wright Leather Works is a great CCW holster. Contact the shop first to see how long it takes & the price.

I have OWB holsters for my P238, XDs, and a Sig1911, all made by crossbreed. While they are more comfortable, they print quite a bit more with the larger guns. My P238 conceals well under just a t-shirt. The XDs is fine under a button down shirt with any sort of pattern on it, and lastly the 1911 has to be under a jacket or vest to hide.

I have a pancake style holster and I like it. It holds close to the body and the pistol if fully covered. It doesn't print, just shows a bulge when bending over, but you can't make out a pistol.

cool weather I use a safariland OWB paddle, hot weather I use either a galco or theis IWB.

I never liked IWB until I carried a smaller, slimmer gun at the 1 o-clock position...yeah right there above you know what. I could never get used to carrying a gun IWB where I normally carry OWB. I also like guns like the naa mini and keltec that can have a belt clip attached to the frame, take the whole holster out of the equation.
Although than that, I carry in the pocket.

Is Safariland still in business. Used to carry various weapons in their suede lined holsters.
Had a great shoulder holster for a Mod 29. Thor

Safariland .....

Safariland is a huge conglomerate that purchased Bianchi-intl and owns a few other LE/shooting sports firms.
They have the SFS & ALS holsters which are extremely popular with spec ops/LE/SWAT.
I'm not a big fan of "lined" type holsters but Safariland has many of those types too.
