Hi,
I am new here and want to know what kind of clips would be the best for my new colt commander. I want to just stick with the regular 7 bullet clips.
any suggestions?

Since you are not talking about an M1 Garand, you are looking for magazines, not clips.

With that said....Wilson Combat mags are great. I also have no problems with my Novak, ACT MAG, and also my Chip McCormick mags.

I heard there was a way to make this gun full-auto (my uncle said all you have to do is file the.. sear?). should I buy magazines that hold more bullets if this is what I want to try?

If you are successful at making your Commander full auto you will also be successful at getting yourself some prison time as that would be a Federal felony. You cannot convert anything to full auto legally in the US as a private individual.

Thank you!

Quick additional question. On the Cheaper than dirt site, the Chip Mc. magazines seem to be the cheapest offering. Is this a quality issue? they have good reviews but I do not mind dropping a little bit extra dollars for magazines that will last. Thanks!

By the way: I am not baiting. Honestly, I know a bit more than I let on, I just get a kick out of getting a rise out of people (in fun of course) I hope I did not offend anyone. Frankly it worked, my question was answered pretty quickly an I hope you guys got a laugh from that second post. I really am looking to get some new mags for my commander, its a beautiful pistol and as soon as I get out of police academy (in may) it will be my off-duty carry gun. +1 for not flaming the hell out of me.

New Guinness World Record Set On THR!

From AP
The Guinness Organization announced today that Carl_Winslow has just been confirmed as the holder of a new World Record for getting on more THR IGNORE LISTS in a shorter period of time than any previous attempts.
Mr. Winslow managed this feat in only 4 postings - a remarkable feat indeed.

:scrutiny: Yah. It's called "trolling."

However, in answer to the actual question - which is a good one - these magazines from Mec-Gar work well in my 1990s stainless Combat Commander. In fact, they seem to be the only ones that run consistently in that gun. My SIG-Sauer GSR, on the other hand, likes Wilson 47Ds the best. (Its factory magazines - of unknown make since I cannot find a maker's logo -are very poor, frequently nose-diving the top round on a slide-lock reload.) I purchased and swapped in thinner floorplates, my preference for carry.

Normally, we greet new people here, but its to hard in your case. Do you plan on being an A-hole when you get your badge? While I generally support Peace Officers, you may be the type that gives LEOs a bad name... by trolling for felonious advice on the web, you give gunowners a bad name as well.

Putting "Bullets" in your magazines will serve no purpose whatsoever. You must also include the cartridge case, powder and primer, properly assembled as a unit.
