I'm looking for a "compact" set of wood grips for my new 3" 65. I say compact only because a full size Hogue grip looks a tad long with this barrel length, but the rubber bantam is almost perfect (but it's rubber). Unfortunately, there aren't really any places around me to try out or look at grips, but I've looked at Hogue bantams in wood and Spegels online. While I know I like the look of both, I don't know how the Hogues feel and the Spegels are a little on the expensive side. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Check S&W Accessories from the S-W site for their K-frame wood service grips. I put a pair on my 2" 10 and they are perfect - they follow the round grip frame contour and are thick as well as nicely made. Additionally, they were $30 + S/H - a bargain! They do have pix of their grips, too. My 3" 65 wears a Hogue goncalo alves f-g simply because my wife doesn't like any semblance of checkering - and it is 'her' PD revolver.

I forgot to mention that the frontstrap must be covered, but the backstrap may be open or covered. I do like finger grooves, but could also do without those. These grips at the S&W site are almost perfect, but they're for a J frame, not a K/L. The really bad part is that I don't even know if that two-finger grip suits me since no one around me carries them for me to try them out. Thanks for the help so far guys!

I found a place that has Spegels in stock, so I think that's going to be the way to go. I like a lot of the other options too, but there seem to be a LOT of people who love their Spegels. Keep an eye out for pictures!
