How much is your life worth?

And a P210 or P7 or M13 is likely to be left behind when deeper concealed is required while the R9 will still be able to go along for the ride.

What ever they are, I'm sure they are superior to a .380 or a .32 out of a similiar size barrel.

Alan for the $$$$ paid for a Rohrbaugh - you can get a used police trade-in P7 and a hell of a lot of practice 9mm ammo too.

Got three of them. It's got to be an AR-15, hunting rifle, P7, P210, or 1911 for me to drop that kind of $$$ on a gun or rifle.

Lots of great 9mm's in the $400-600 range - no need to spend more a small gun you won't shoot 6,000 rounds through yearly.

The Rorhrbaugh is too small for me. Kahr PM9 is as small as a usual gun you can actually enjoy shooting.

If you want pretty small, who about a 357 mag Derringer?:neener:

Me too on the Kel-Tec P11

The Kel-Tec P-11 is reliable and inexpensive, and ALMOST as small and light as the Kahr PM. Half the price, too. The trigger is a bit tough, but I count that as perhaps a good safety measure against neg. discharges. Capacity is 10 plus one, and plus p is no problem either.

All fine weapon choices.

I myself when going with a 9mm always go with a Beretta 92. Not that small, but really the only 9mm that feels right to me.

CZ 2075 RAMI and BERSA Thunder 380

I carry the CZ 2075 RAMI 9MM in a High Noon Hidden Ally tuckable holster, and you can't really see it at all when using the 10 round magazine. Sometimes I use the 14 round mag, and the RAMI is still concealable, but not invisible. I've tested it well at the range, and, like my other CZ's, it's a potent and reliable handgun, well suited for concealed carry on the waist.

I trade off the RAMI with my Bersa Thunder 380 when I want a slightly lighter and thinner pistol to wear on my ankle in an Uncle Mike's rig. or in a pocket holster in any of my favorite cargo shorts. The Bersa has my complete confidence in it's reliability and accuracy, after having tested it with more than seven hundred rounds of various high quality JHP ammo at the range.

Of pistols I have handled, shot, or personally own, my votes would have to go to the Kahr, HK P7, and the Devel that I was lucky enough to handle one afternoon.

Of course, the pricepoint on the Devel makes the P7 and Rohrbaugh look like something from the discount bin.

FWIW, I just made quite a few changes to my post on page 1 of this thread, with more thoughts on the subject, which some may find possibly helpful.

Very good question, as I love the 9mm round.

It depends on what you mean by "concealable".... 4 categories:

Good points.

One for the pocket

and one for the waistband.

If you want conceable, I agree with GGB, it's thin so double stacks go bye bye.

We also forgot a nice 9mm 1911 subcompact in 9mm, the Springfield Ultracompact (had one and stupidly traded it for some other gun!):

Ate JHPs all day long!

My Rohrbaugh was worth every penny, as it fills a niche that no other pistol can fill. It's smaller in every dimension than a Kahr or Glock, and offers second strike capability unlike Kahr or Glock. I sold a G27 and P239 to buy it, with no regrets whatsoever. I have a few firearms (that cost more money than the Rohrbaugh) that have lower cost and lower quality "equivalents", but I believe that when it comes to firearms and footwear you get what you pay for. Your mileage may vary, but I'm quite happy with my R9S.

Beretta compact type M. Works for me...
I'm still looking for one of those. I believe they quit making them last year but not sure. It's the only thing my son wants.

I agree - good gun just need to fluff and buff and test for reliability.
I'm not so sure I'd say that every P11 *needs* a fluff and buff. I've not touched mine other than to shoot and clean it. So far about 300 rounds thorugh it with no failures of any sort.

Well - no failures than my ability to hold it on target. :)

I don't carry this one, for the simple reason that I have better choices available to me. But it's a really nice piece for the money. Test first - don't bother fixing anything that's not broken.

Bobo,
You forgot reliable and accurate!!

Janitor,
I agree, not all P-11's need the fluff & buff. Mine was fine out of the box.

+1 for the Kel-Tec P11
